Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Remote Private Tutor to teach the Criminal Law module of the LPC course. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional looking to make a difference in the lives of LPC students by providing personalised instruction tailored to their needs.

Tuition Topics

As a Remote Private Tutor for the Criminal Law module, you will be responsible for teaching a wide range of topics within the module. These areas include:
  1. General principles of criminal liability, including actus reus and mens rea.
  2. Specific offences, such as homicide, non-fatal offences against the person, sexual offences, and property offences.
  3. Defences, including self-defence, duress, necessity, and insanity.
  4. Participants in crime, including principles of complicity and inchoate offences.
  5. Procedure and evidence in criminal cases, including the criminal trial process, sentencing, and appeals.
  6. Professional conduct and ethics in criminal law practice.

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Provide private, one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in the Criminal Law module of the LPC course.
  2. Develop and implement customised lesson plans based on individual student needs and learning objectives.
  3. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their goals.
  4. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.
  5. Collaborate with the Brigitte’s LPC team to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Completed the LPC and possess a strong understanding of the Criminal Law module.
  2. Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring in a legal education setting.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  5. Proficient in using online collaboration tools and video conferencing software.
